Frequently Asked Questions

Since this is the first-ever WordCamp for Publishers, we’ve been getting a few questions! Here’s a handy FAQ to help answer them.

How many people will be attending?
For the first-ever WordCamp for Publishers, we’re keeping it small. The event is limited to 230 attendees. You can see the list of who’s coming so far on the attendees page.

When will tickets go on sale? How much will they cost?
Tickets are on sale now! Tickets are $40 per attendee. We also have a few micro-sponsorships available for $250 if you would like to protest the low cost of admission.

What will the schedule look like?
We are planning two days of hands-on workshops and talks (Thursday and Friday), along with a contributor day on Saturday to work on open-source projects related to WordPress and publishing. Anyone who actively manages a publication with WordPress will benefit from attending this event, including engineering, product, and editorial teams. Our speakers and attendees will come from national, international, and local media organizations along with smaller publications.

Because we expect most attendees to be coming from out of town, we will also be planning some Denver activities on Saturday after contributor day. It’s a great opportunity to see the city and get to know other attendees!

Will there be a conference hotel?
Yes. We have information on nearby hotels available here.

Will scholarships be available?
Yes. We have a limited number of travel scholarships of up to $500 available for people who need assistance getting to the event. There’s more information and an application form on the travel scholarships page.

I have a session idea/would like to be a speaker. How can I pitch my idea?
The call for speakers has closed. That said, we have time set aside for show and tell on Friday and also the contributor day on Saturday where you can share projects you’re working on or lead an informal small discussion on a topic of your choosing.

How can I sponsor?
All of our regular sponsorship slots are full. There are still a limited number of microsponsorships available. Those are $250 and you can just select that option when you register for the conference.

Will there be Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART) services available?
Yes, we will have CART services at this event.
